The importance of a Personal Brand
Having a strong Personal Brand plays an essential and integral role in building your career whatever industry or sector you are in.Â
I worked in Advertising Agencies for over 20 years, where pitching yourself and your ideas, presenting and being visible were the name of the game. I had a Brand; a reputation and people knew me for who I was and what I was about.
When I entered the Corporate space, I became aware of how many women are overlooked for new opportunities and leadership roles because they hadn’t developed the skills needed to manage their own Personal Brand effectively; to position themselves as potential leaders. Instead, they relied on their hard work to get them noticed but in a competitive work environment, achievements do not speak for themselves, you have to give them a voice.

Be Seen. Be Heard
To get ahead in the workplace or in business you need to be seen and heard. Exposure accounts for 60% of success*. But women are more inclined to allow modesty and the desire to be liked and not offend to get in the way of their desire to succeed.
Instead of putting ourselves forward we shy away from asking for what we really want or feel we deserve. The fear of judgement is ever present so it’s often easier to blend than offend but in a competitive environment that alone will not win you the promotion or the new job: You need to be visible and stand out from the crowd by articulating your unique strengths in a way that is authentic to you.

What's your
Communication Style?
Take the quiz...
How we communicate forms a large part of the impression we create. Every time we speak in a meeting, send an email, or pick up the phone, we communicate our brand.
We all have a particular style of communicating, but do you know what your style is and how it compares to the styles of others? Understanding your own style and it’s nuances allows you to better communicate so you are consistent with your Personal Brand and avoid the ‘communication breakdowns’ which can be harmful to your reputation
Take this short Communication Style quiz to discover your archetype and whether it is helping or hindering your Personal Brand.
